Global TIN format validator

Enter one Tax Identification Number and a country. REGREP validates the structure — length, allowed characters and the check digit where one exists — and returns an instant result. Most public tools cover EU countries only. This one covers 111.

Validate a Tax Identification Number

We don’t store what you check

Sample set for review. The live validator lists every one of 111 supported countries.

What this means: this confirms format validity, not existence or ownership. It does not check any register, and does not confirm the number belongs to a real person or entity.

Scope

What the validator checks

A format validation is a fast first pass. It catches the mistakes that get a filing rejected at the door — but it is not a substitute for verifying a number against an authority.

It confirms Structure

  • The length matches the format for the chosen country.
  • Only allowed characters are used — digits, letters and separators in the expected positions.
  • The check digit is recalculated and compared, for countries that define one.
  • Country-specific structural rules, such as reserved ranges, are applied.

It does not Verify

  • Whether the number has actually been issued.
  • Whether it belongs to the person or entity you are reporting.
  • Anything held in a tax authority register or public database.
  • Whether a number that passes format validation is fit for a specific filing.

Validating more than one number?

The same validation engine runs as a bulk product. Upload a file or call the API to validate thousands of records across 111 countries at once, with a per-record report you can download. The first 25 records every month are free.

Numbers you enter here are validated in memory and discarded. They are never written to a log, saved to a database, or passed to any analytics tool. Bulk validation of files runs inside your account, under our data processing agreement.

Questions

About the validator

What exactly does this validate?
It validates the structure of a Tax Identification Number for the country you choose: its length, its allowed characters, and its check digit where one is defined. It confirms format validity, not existence or ownership.
Does a valid result mean the number is real?
No. A valid result means the number is correctly formed for that country. It does not confirm that the number has been issued, or that it belongs to the person or entity you are reporting. It never checks a register.
Which countries are supported?
The live validator covers 111 countries. That is broader than the EU-only public tools most people reach for first.
Do you store the number I enter?
No. Single validations here are processed in memory and discarded — never logged, never stored, never passed to analytics. Bulk validation of files runs inside your account under our data processing agreement.
Can I validate a whole file at once?
Yes, with a free account. The TIN Validator validates thousands of records across 111 countries and returns a per-record report. The first 25 records every month are free.
